Rob & Kylie's Cromer Engagement Shoot
31st May 2015
It was on a unseasonably windy and cold evening in late May when I met Kylie and Rob at Cromer pier for their pre-wedding photoshoot. The location was chosen by Rob and Kylie as it was where they had their first date.
These shoots, sometimes called engagement shoots, are a great way to settle any nerves the couple might have about 'posing' for the camera.
In reality its great way for me to show them how I work and make them realise that their wedding day won't be full of posed shots and having to hold a perfect smile for hours on end.
Sure I'll get them to stand still and look at the camera for some of the shots but the images that couples really love of their big day are the natural moments that come up on their own when least expected.
These moments are made all the easier for me to capture when I'm working with a couple as at ease with each other as Rob and Kylie are.
Below you'll find a selection of Kylie's favourite images from the shoot as well as a few of my choices.
We were joined on the shoot by Bella, she was never far from their side and it was only right that she was included in some of the shots. After all she'll be making an appearance on the big day itself in September.
It's always great for me to catch up with couples ahead of their day and hear all their exciting plans and answer any questions they might have for me.
Typically once Rob and Kylie had gone home and as I was finishing my Fish and Chips (Well it's compulsory when you're by the sea isn't it?) the wind dropped, clouds parted and the most beautiful golden sunset lit up the pier in front of me so I snapped this shot to finish off the day.
